From Boston we took the ship about two days further south before we saw the main island Grand Bermuda in the morning with beautiful weather and pleasant temperatures. Bermuda is a group of islands located more than 1,000 km from the east coast of the United States in the Atlantic Ocean and is a British overseas territory.

The Bermuda Triangle is derived from the same name and has a mysterious reputation due to ship and airplane disasters that actually or supposedly took place there. Geographically, Bermuda forms the northeastern tip of the Bermuda Triangle. The approach with the large ship to the island, surrounded by reefs, involved a few maneuvers, also evident from water buoys, that marked the way.

From the deck we had a good view of the northwest tip of the island, where the Royal Naval Dockyard is located with some historical buildings, museums, smaller parks and shops. After the ship had docked, we immediately set off to look for a suitable means of transport.

The choice fell on a ferry to Hamilton, the capital of the island, where we were able to enjoy the trip particularly well because of the pleasant temperatures and this environment.

After a walking tour in Hamilton, we continued our exploration in a public bus that later took us to Horseshoe Bay, where we enjoyed the afternoon on the beach.

The next morning we took a few more walks around the Naval Dockyard. A visit to a small transport museum located there was particularly interesting for me. Not only because of the special history of motorized two-wheelers on the island, which was presented there, but also because many mopeds from the two-wheeler manufacturer Motobecane were on display and reminded me of my first motorized two-wheeler, called Moby.
